On Thursday, June 2nd, in honor of International Children’s day, Yedidim presented a research study at the Presidential Residence. President Rivlin hosted the event and invited partners from the Police, the Ministry of Immigration & Absorption, the Ministry of Welfare, and Professors Avia Spivak and David Leiser who conducted the research study.

The study showed that every shekel invested in the Second Chance program saves the government 10 shekel!
‘Second Chance’ (Sikuim) is a program targeting young offenders with the goal of helping them reintegrate into normative Israeli society after becoming involved in criminal activity.
A study conducted by Professor Arnon Edelstein in 2013 showed that up to 5 years after completing the program, 80% of youth did not re-offend.Additionally, 100% were involved in normative frameworks and 56% enlisted in the army, a critical step to integrating into Israeli society.
